What made you start on the entrepreneur and speaking journey you are on now?

My journey to becoming a Lifestyle Elevation Specialist was ignited by a personal breakthrough with Emotional Intelligence. That revelation reshaped my life and gave me the tools to navigate challenges with clarity, grace, and strength. Through that experience, I recognized the power of owning my story and the transformative impact of creating clear boundaries. I knew then that I was called to share this work with others—particularly Black women entrepreneurs who often navigate doubt and imposter syndrome.

Before stepping into entrepreneurship, I worked in the nonprofit sector, where I experienced and witnessed deeply disheartening realities. I found myself in oppressive work environments within organizations that were intended to support and serve communities. That disconnect—between mission and practice—became a turning point for me.

It pushed me to build something different. I was committed to creating a business rooted in integrity, authenticity, and genuine relationship-building—one that provides excellence in the care and support Black women receive. I understand the intersectional realities Black women face while healing from trauma and striving for excellence, and I wanted to ensure they are supported with intention, respect, and high standards—without the limitations of bureaucracy.

What kind of obstacles did you face on your journey and how did you overcome them?

One of the biggest challenges I faced was realizing that my vision was bigger than the processes I initially had in place to support and mobilize it. I had to take a step back and intentionally focus on developing systems, strategies, and structures that would allow my ideas to flourish and operate efficiently.

Another challenge was building a trusted team and network. Finding people who believe in your vision, respect your leadership, and share your level of commitment and work ethic takes time. Through patience and discernment, I’ve built a trusted network that includes talented team members and collaborative community partners.

Today, I’m grateful to collaborate with established Black women-owned businesses and culturally aware individuals, organizations, and institutions that actively support and invest in Black women. These partnerships have helped expand both the reach and the impact of my work.

How do you balance the juggling act and keep your stress levels down?

I start by being honest with myself about what I’m feeling—whether it’s exhaustion, frustration, or tension. Acknowledging those emotions allows me to address them instead of ignoring them.

I also communicate my needs when necessary and give myself permission to prioritize my well-being. Focusing on what is within my control helps me maintain clarity and balance.

Meditation, hot baths, stretching, and breathing exercises are practices I rely on regularly for stress management. I also support my physical wellness by drinking smoothies made from raw fruits and vegetables and taking supplements that help keep my energy and focus strong.

Who was one of your greatest mentors or influencers and why?

One of my greatest influences was my Aunt Dessa. I used to call her “Grandma” because she helped raise me from a young age. Some of my core childhood memories are our mandatory visits, tending to her gardens, and fishing at freshwater spots across Connecticut.

Through those experiences, I learned valuable lessons about self-sufficiency—catching, cleaning, and growing my own food. I know what pure, fresh food truly tastes like because of her. My aunty was a humble, solution-oriented Southern woman, and her wisdom and practical approach to life left a lasting impression on me.

What are two of your favorite books, podcasts, or shows that inspire you?

Emotional Intelligence: Journey to the Centre of Your Self
by Jane Wharam book cover picture

One book that had a profound impact on me is Emotional Intelligence: Journey to the Centre of Your Self by Jane Wharam. Discovering that book sparked my intentional journey toward reclaiming my emotional and mental power. Developing my emotional intelligence strengthened my communication, confidence, and trust in my intuition.

Another favorite is We Should All Be Millionaires by Rachel Rodgers. That book helped push me further into my multi-millionaire mindset. I appreciate the practical strategies it provides—they feel accessible and empowering for women who are serious about building wealth and expanding their impact.

What would you say are the best parts of your inner self?

Curiosity is one of my strongest qualities—I’m always eager to learn, explore new ideas, and ask questions. I’m confident, emotionally intelligent, empathetic, creative, and authentic. I’m also very direct and communicative, which helps me build honest relationships.

I enjoy challenges and have a naturally competitive spirit that pushes me to grow. I’m charismatic, have a great sense of humor, and genuinely enjoy both deep conversations and meaningful connections. At the same time, I truly value my own company and the space it gives me to reflect, think, and create.

Every day I wake up motivated to advance my business and fulfill its mission. I wake up grateful, curious, and intentional about moving through my day in alignment with my highest purpose.

I also recognize how far I’ve come. Shifting my mindset, strengthening my perspective, and committing to a positive, disciplined attitude has been transformative—not only for me, but also for the clients I support through my lifestyle elevation work.

That energy is powerful. It reminds me to stay grounded, focused, and guided by the strength within me. Seeing the real-life transformations of the women I work with continues to fuel my belief in the journey and the impact of this work.
